Census Advocacy Workshop, January 20, 2010
In honor of MLK Day, Young Detroit Builders hosted a census advocacy workshop entitled “Dispelling the Myths, Let’s be counted in 2010.” The objective of the event was to educate the community about the importance of the census and to dispel any myths that might discourage individuals from participating in the census count.

A Visit to the Holocaust Memorial Center
Recently, our students had the opportunity to tour the Holocaust Memorial Center in Farmington Hills. It is the country’s first freestanding museum dedicated to the memory of the Holocaust.

Our YouthBuild volunteers helped students put on biking safety gear and assisted with training students on how to properly ride a bike.

Our students worked on two homes, both belonging to single mothers. They caulked and glazed windows, as well as other tasks.
