 On September 18, 2009, Young Detroit Builders hosted their 6th
Annual Showdown in Motown.  It took place at the Majestic Theater and featured 12 different acts, including:  singers,  musicians, dancers, comedians, and more.

 The Showdown in Motown is a competitive talent show to benefit the YouthBuild Detroit program, which prepares disadvantaged young adults to pass the GED, develop leadership and employability skills, and receive on-the-job construction training while building homes for needy families.  Young Detroit Builders, a 501(c)(3) nonprofit charitable organization, is in its 13th year of providing services to youth so that they may rebuild their lives while rebuilding their community.
